the hands of an Iraqi diesel mechanic who, while working as a contractor for the US army, was kidnapped and tortured, and escaped the night before he was to be beheaded. he is now a refugee in the US.

I asked him to show me his hands, and this is what he did, like they just automatically went to that position.

He's doing good--has his family here, going to school, and learning the ways of the US. This was from a shoot I did for a news magazine. The story will be published next week, and I'll post a link to it.
